About Dixon Place

DIXON PLACE, a laboratory for performing and literary artists since 1986, is dedicated to supporting the creative process by presenting original works at all stages of development. Challenging artists and audiences, this local haven encourages and inspires artists of all stripes and callings, and places special emphasis on the needs of women, people of color, seniors, youth and LGBTQ artists. Serving as a safety net, DP holds the artist’s experience as our foremost priority. In January of 2009, Dixon Place moved into our new home after years of presenting artists in the living room of our founder, Ellie Covan. For more information about our work, submissions process, and calendar, visit our website.
